A pilot project has recently been initiated analyzing pros and cons having the SIAR UPM-files digitalized. The purpose is to facilitate future access to the documents via internet. All UPM’s are today physically filed at Centrum för Näringslivshistoria (CfN) located just outside of Stockholm and CfN will run the pilot project by the scanning and OCR-coding of all Eric’s UPMs. The pilot is expected to be finalized early this fall. One major issue to be adressed relates to what restrictions to apply and how, due to the confidentiality of the material.
