New major research project launched for 2013

A one year research project headed by Prof. Jukka Gronow (Helsinki) and Prof. Vera Minina (St. Petersburg) with the title “Food in everyday life: A comparative survey of the change and stability in eating patterna” with focus on Russia, has been funded by the SIAR board. The objective is to address specific issues of relevance for the interaction between Nordic countries and Russia when it comes to consumer behavior. This is a continuation of a similar study financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers conducted in the Nordic Countries.

Second Advanced Seminar

The Lund Institute of Economic Research and Professor Thomas Kalling will host the Second Advanced Seminar on Clinical Research scheduled for January 26-27, 2012.

The event is one out of a series of seminars and work-shops on this topic financially supported by the SIAR Foundation. At the January seminar researchers from Åbo Akademi and Lund University will report findings from their recent studies of “SIARs development of a consultancy practice in combination with academic research”.

“Varför blev SIAR aldrig världsmästare trots att vi var världsbäst”.

Ett handfull seniora f.d. SIARiter gör ett försök att utreda varför SIAR inte utvecklades till ett stort och framgångsrikt konsultföretag i stil med Bains, BCG m.f. Forskare från Åbo Akademi och Lunds Universitet deltar för att ta fram ett publiceringsbart case. Några snabba tankar kommer att presenteras redan den 6 oktober för Alumni.

Inauguration of the Rhenman Conference Hall

More than 70 SIAR Alumni, invited researchers, representatives of the Rhenman family, the SIAR Foundation and of the Lund Institute of Economic Research participated January 13, 2011 at a seminar in Lund in memory of Professor Eric Rhenman. The seminar was follwed by the grand opening of the Rhenman Conference Hall at the Holger Crafoord Ekonomicenter. Some 40 participants also stayed for the next day’s Advanced Seminar of Clinical Reserach, the first out of three annual events scheduled for 2011-13 and financed by the SIAR Foundation.

Inbjudan till konferens i Lund 13-14 januari 2011

Alumni i Sverige och i Finland inbjudes delta i “Konferens om Clinical Management Research till Professor Eric Rhenmans minne” samt “Invigning av Rhenmansalen”. Evenemanget arrangeras av SIAR och Institutet för Ekonomisk Forskning vid Lunds universitet och hålls vid Holger Crafoords Ekonomicentrum i Lund. Torsdagen den 13 januari, med början kl 13:30, är avsatt till korta presentationer under rubriken “Hur kombinera forskning och konsultation – Eric Rhenman, SIAR och Lund som pionjärer”. Dagen avslutas med invigning av den nya Rhenmansalen samt buffé. Under förmiddagen fredagen den 14 januari hålls “First Lund Advanced Seminar of Clinical Management Research”. New funding decided at the Spring Board Meeting

At the Board Meeting held May 10, 2010 it was decided to financially support the establishment of a “SIAR/Eric Rhenman Conference Facility” at the Institution of Business Economics at the University of Lund. Also funds were allocated to the PBI Clinical Research Organisation (associated with the University of Turku) for it’s establishment in St Petersburg, Russia.
